Sadly not Boston || 22 August 2016
I am finally settled into my new town! while sorting through all o fly wares, I found some undeveloped film from my last month or so in Boston. I got it developed at a local printmaking shop and am super pleased with the results. As I have mentioned before, both in previous blog posts and on my Instagram, I find that I am more intentional in my composition and exposure when I shoot film. Sometimes when I shoot digital I fall into the trap of believing that I can fix anything I want tin post. With film, that is not always the case. What I shoot is what I shoot, and there is very little that I am able to adjust after the initial exposure.
The three rolls that I had developed were from some different adventures– two different housewarming parties, a visit to the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, and some portraits of my friend Leighanne and her sweet dog Eva. I immediately fell in love with the photos of Eva! Portra 160 renders colors beautifully and the sharp focus of my lens really makes Eva stand out.
